Does anyone have an actual verified link between William Henry and the George Beazley that appears on his death certificate?
George Beazley and Isabella Mary is indeed a verified marriage in Wandsworth in 1819, but If William Henry was born in 1820 he would appear to be a first child, and, would traditionally be named George?
(Georges Father and Grandfather were both named George)
Has an error been made by the informant with regard to Williams Father's name?
Anyone found a verifiable link?
Kevin.
Grandson of Hira Beazley.
Hello Kevin
I have no verified link to any parent of William Henry Beazley
BUT I have found a record of baptism of William Henry Beazley - the only one that includes Henry as a second name - baptised 8 Dec 1819 at St Mary, Lambeth, Surrey, son of William and Mary Beazley.
Who was the informant at his death?
Regards
Noelene Almond
Hello Noelene,
Thank you for the reply.
I agree with your record which i have also located and it makes more sense to me than the name on the death certificate.
I do not know the informant in this case but William Henry, after being in NZ from approx 1837 (75yrs) without apparently any family from the old country with him, who would know?
I say this not to be disrespectful to those who are acting for the best of intentions but my experience has been that often family who have been born in a new country do not know those details. For example, my grandmother, born in NZ, did not know the name of her grandfather who remained in Scotland and had never met each other.
I have been looking for some years and can not verify a link with George Beazley.
The naming patterns in England would suggest that the use of the second name is a tribute to some other member of the family like a father, grandfather or an uncle also named William.
I guess I will keep an open mind on the subject until i find how he got here, and when.
Best regards
