Yesterday, this profile had nothing on it. I did some digging and found as much as I could basically indicating that Absalom Gasque:

1. was a War of 1812 veteran.

2. had 2 wives, one of which Ann filed for his War of 1812 pension.

3. Sellers, who is more right than wrong as a local historian - given all he tried to chronicle, but does have some errors or gaps, notes how his children are allotted amongst said wives more or less. Though I need to make a chart line by line of what he pronounces as there are so many with so many other connections (which is why this profile is very important).

That said, please assist with what to do with the now multiple wives of Absalom Gasque. Several may be the same person, but I have no real clue. I have cleaned up and merged the ones I thought were the same, but still a hot mess. Profiles in question:

Absalom Gasque

Ann Rogers / Gasque

Rebecca Gasque

Ann Rogers / Gasque

Rebecca Gasque

Ann Rogers / Gasque

I think that Ann/Anne/Nancy may be the same person, but I can find no source for anyone named Nancy. Only Rebecca and Ann from the War of 1812 pension site. I am going to see what I can find on the children to see if their birthdates will help sort them, if Absalom married Ann in 1842.

Please assist if you know anything. Higher up in this tree needs some work. Some of this work will help the process. Thanks, Susanne

I had reservations about what to do with Benjamin and Stacey Ann Rogers. Benjamin is most certainly a son. Stacey may be his wife in 1860 as she was not present in 1850 and should have been. I have not built their profiles yet and still searching. I suspect Civil War records are the next search for Benjamin. I cannot find a grave for him or Stacey Ann in the Pee Dee region. If he died in the war, she may have remarried. Any information on these persons appreciated.

I have been able to uncover much on the other children of Absalom Gasque - son Pvt. Ervin Arrista Gasque, (CSA) died at Gaines Mill and son Pvt. Thomas Gasque, (CSA) died in a POW hospital. Both were not married that I can find or had any issue so noting them here is the first notation they have had in over 150 years.

That is what Geni is about. Any information on Rebecca Gasque or Ann Rogers / Gasque

I had questioned whether Ann was really married to a Jonah Rogers, but I don't doubt that she was married to a Rogers before she married Absalom. Still seeking proof that he was named Jonah.
