There is not much history for Basil. He was named in his father's will and was approx 18 when his father died. He first appears in the 1775 Port Tobacco/Durham Parrish Census the appears in the 1790 Census in Charles Co., MD w/3 slaves and 4 total household members. He appears again in the 1810 Census for Port Tobacco, Charles Co., MD with (perhaps) his wife and 6 slaves.
We believe he married a Elizabeth Rebecca (Miller)
At some point he migrated with brother's Richard and Alexander down into Fauquier, Bedford and Bottetourt Counties, Montgomery (later Giles and now Craig County, VA).
Both of his brother's Alexander and Richard purchased adjoining land along the Sinking Creek in Montgomery County, VA and may have lived with either of them. It is possible he is buried with his brother on the property along Sinking Creek OR traveled into Tennessee along with Richard's son, Daniel Elijah, to Roane County, TN. near Rockwood and Ten Mile, TN.
