This is absolutely false and has no basis in reality. There is no evidence whatsoever that ties these two families together. On the contrary, Y-DNA evidence proves that there is no connection between this Christopher Houston family and General Sam Houston (of Texas fame) within the last 800 years.
Any link between Christopher Houston and John Houston & Margaret McClung should be removed and blocked.
I don't know anything about a supposed connection to Gen. Sam Houston. I came across Christopher while tracing a cousin connection to be supposedly through a sibling line that I 'm finding questionable. That's all I know about it. I was just asking about the fact that it's showing Christopher with two different fathers.
I do not know who added them but it doesn't matter because both are false and undocumented. I removed both. John and Margaret (McClung) Houston are 2-great-grandparents of the general. Any tie to that family from this line is a fabrication.
Which Houston line are you working on? I glanced through the children of this Christopher and there are two children that have been linked that are fictitious people. there is at least one other that I believe has been linked through bad genealogy.
I wasn't even working on Houston lines, per se. I was working on Vann and Grayson lines and discovered I have Houston connections up those lines. A cousin of mine is from the line of the Christopher Houston you disconnected. The Houston pathway through him showed up when she ran her line to my Sarah (Vann) Grayson. I was going to add that pathway to her into my Ancestry tree, which is when I dsicovered two fathers listed for Christopher and posted asking about any validation of which was actually his father. Then you disconnected him, so now my cousin and I don't have a Houston connection on Geni any more. I explained what happened to her and suggested she do further research on her Christopher to discover his parentage.
My own Houston line is a new discovery for me, so I know almost nothing about them other than what showed up on Geni, which I haven't researched to make sure the Geni connections for me are correct.
I'm a descendant of Martha (Buchanan) Vann. It turned out that Geni has her ancestry going back to John Houston who was married to Margaret Cunningham and who was the son of .Samuel Houston and Margaret McClung...IF the Geni connections are correct.
So I have no interest in Christopher at all other than a distant cousin of mine is showing as his descendant on Geni.
Here is how Geni has me connected to Samuel and Margaret and, as I said, I haven't verified it yet since that wasn't even what I was working on:
Samuel 'John' Houston is your 9th great grandfather.

I had been trying to get a breakthrough on my Grayson ancestry for a very long time, so that was the focus of my research at this time.
