Hi,
I have no information of my Grandmother's family in Lodz. She (Maryjam Zysla) and new husband (Judka Macherowski) lived in Radoszyce and came to America through Philadelphia in circa 1904. Judtka changed his name to John Macovsky and they settled in Patterson, N.J. where John could get a job in a silk mill. My Grandmother's half-brother Emanuel Rosenkrantz preceded them in emigrating from Lodz to America.

I cannot find any reference to the Rosenkrantz family in Lodz. He may have been the owner of a mill but more likely was a manager and apparently did well supporting his family. His name may have been Moshe or Moseik. His wife may have been Rifka. That's all I have.

Can anyone suggest a source for information? I have repeatedly searched jri-poland at jewishgen.org. Perhaps sources for records of and from mills in Lodz (I know there were many textile mills, for that was the reason for modern late 19th and early 20th century Lodz).

Does anyone have links to the Rosenkrantz name that might lead me to my Rosenkrantz ancestors?

Thank you,
Louis
