Is there any proof of the marriage to Catherine Lawson? I've never seen that, only the marriage to Mary Ann Ewell. I ran into this tracing a line that has son Richard C. White on it. Is there documentation of the children of Catherine Lawson actually being the children of this particular Isaac White?
Also, is there documentation for the middle name John? All sources I've seen just have him as Isaac, not Isaac John.
I think I found on the problem. I found record of the marriage of Isaas White and Mary Ann Ewell on Ancestry and a DIFFERENT link showing Isaac John White and Catherine Lawson. NOT the same Isaas White, is the problem. The two men and their famlilies have become incorrectly merged here on Geni, from what I can sort out.
Issac John White and Catherine Lawson were married 1740, according to the Millennium File source on Ancestry.
According to Lancaster marriage records, Isaac White and Mary Ann Ewell were married in Lancaster County in 1724.
So the theory that this Isaac had a previous wife before Mary Ann who may have died doesn't hold given that Catherine Lawson didn't marry her Issac John until decades later.
Based on this information, I'm disconnecting Catherine Lawson from my line and changing my ancestor's name back to hsi correct Isaac White, not John Isaac White and will try to sort out the children that got incorrectly merged into one family.
