William Townes (1711-1774) is my 4th great grandfather. Previous family research and basic knowledge is a clear line to him. However, some sources say he was married to (Nancy) Ann Childers, and others say he was married to Rebecca Clarke. They do not list both -- it is always either one or the other, and their children attributed to both mothers.
I have been trying to figure this out, and also identify who Childers is.
If you have any information that could help me sort this out, I'd be very grateful.
