I ran into this connection with parents with surname Haile and daughter with surname Powell. Reading the notes in the About section didn't clarify this for me, as it seems to be something still being researched and I still don't have a clue whether she was born a Haile or a Powell.
Can someone confirm 'for certain' which is her true maiden name? If that hasn't been documented, I always think it's best not to connect unproven lines on Geni because it gives false kinship pathways.
Thanks in advance for any definite clarification on this connection.
I'm not so sure the parents listed were her parents. From what I understand from David Cremeans of the Native American Indian Federation, her white name was Edith Powell and her Native name was Morning Hale. She was Nanticoke Indian. Debbie Gambrell
Debbie Gambrell The following comes from an Ancestry Website
Family lore has it that Edith Powell was the Christian name given to Morning (Mourning) Hale (Hail) upon her marriage to William Uriah Perdue.

Thanks, Linda (Carr) Buchholz, Kit # FW864102C1 that does help clarify the names.
The reason I keep coming across the profile is that while all the dots aren't connected on Geni is the Perdue line she married into is a cousin line for me and I haven't been sure if her connected parents were correct. With all the endogamy among all us cousins, I've wondered if she might be related to me as well, but didn't know what to trace. This will help. :)
