Joseph Durfee - Joseph St John Durfee

Hi Kacis. Have you found any birth records for great grandpa Joe? Joseph Durfee carried you sir names St John and Durfee. Grandpa Joe’s mother’s name is Angelique (LeCombe) St John. Angelique married Jean Baptiste St John in the early 1840’s. I have found marriage records for the two f them but no divorce decrees. They both passed away in 1906 and apparently still married to each other. Grandpa Joe is recorded as being the son of William R Durfee and Angelique St John, but I haven’t found any marriage records or divorce records for them.
William married two other women after the birth of Grandpa Joe, Eugenia and Cecelia Durfee.
My curiosity has me wondering if grandpa Joe was born a St John and adopted by William R. Durfee. William Durfee was also a federal Indian Agent in Wisconsin in the 1880’s.
