I'm looking for information for Samuel W. Shores who appears in the 1860 Wise County, Texas married to Manerva/Minerva McGowen. Samuel claims to be a physician, however, I have not been able to proof that. Samuel claims to be born about 1819 in Alabama but I have also heard that Virginia may have been his place of birth.
He also appears to have been in the Civil War but deserted.
Does ANYONE know anything about this man? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
