I am looking for the David family ancestors/descendants of Michelle (David) Giard b c1615. She was born in Poitou, France. I don't know much more about the Davids except that I briefly saw somewhere that she had ancestors dating back to the 1000's or 1100's and took the surname of St Etienne dit David, I believe. It was at that point in time that the profile manager believed the ancestor converted to Catholicism from Judaism, so as not to get expelled from the country, or worse, killed for their faith. Which may be part of the problem finding family. If the were practicing Judaism while hiding behind behind a false Catholic conversion, some of them may have changed their surname and/or moved around a lot.
So, does anyone have any leads at all on this line of the David family?
