Fritz loved both flying and ham radio. During World War II he was a transport pilot and flew personnel for the U.S. Army from the states to Europe. He also flew many army soldiers to places in China. After the war, he continued his love of flying and became a pilot for the state of Ohio with duties as the personal pilot for the governor of Ohio.
