As far as I know my elter Bubby's name was Malya/Molly but she went to Talmud Torah where they changed Yiddish names to more Hebrew sounding ones. For example Bubbys name was Malya so they switched it to Malka. I do believe her name was Malya as opposed to Malka

Definitely could be. a kesubah would be best to find. Would Simcha State have? Also the matzevah would have it. no picture online. Buried at Mount Zion Cemetery, Maspeth, NY, "Soler" Society, 36R-16-4-302.

Rita Palley swore her own name was Shoshana until I showed her her kesubah that says Roize. She says what you did, that the Hebrew school changed it.
