I haven't been able to find anything confirming the parentage of this Sir Edward Anderson. Wiki has his parents as Henry Anderson and Anne Order but shows those connections as 'uncertain'. Nowhere have I seen that his father was Thomas Anderson or a mother with the maiden name Lockwood.

Obviously, the conflicting fathers need to sorted and the correct one documented or else all the parental connections can be assumed to be speculative and giving false pathways on Geni and should be disconnected.

Maddison's version

https://archive.org/stream/lincolnshirepedi01madd#page/n69/

has Katherine Clayton marrying the judge's grandfather, not his father.

This William's father is said to be a Henry Anderson of Wrawby, Lincs.

Henry is supposed to be a younger son of an Anderson in Northumberland, but also supposed to be a great-grandson of a Roger Anderson of Wrawby.

These seem to be alternative theories, as they aren't easy to combine.

Yes, there are so many variations. The Lincolnshire document adds another generation between Henry and Edward...... This would mean the line would be: ? Anderson of Northumberland down to William & Katherine down to Thomas, Richard and Edmund. Then Edmund & Magdalena down to several children.

Another site is the same as above with the exception of the William generation...very confusing!!! https://www.gutenberg.org/files/58212/58212-h/58212-h.htm#page142
The above site goes like this: Roger, ?, ?, Henry, Edward, Edmund (6 generations down from Roger).

Here is another that doesn't include William either:https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=eA84XBiBeroC&hl=en&...

Of all the found old documents, there is only 1 that includes William out of about 5 so what should we do???? At least it would seem that Edmund Anderson (Chief Justice) born in 1530 is the son of Edward which eliminates Roger and others. At least we have clarified this part, which is a great step forward.

Thank you Debbie and Brian. In summary, we can go with: Edward has 3 sons, one of which is Edmund. I have also asked some experienced genealogists to help with this. Cheers, Kathy

Debbie has referred it to a curator so hopefully they will sort it out for us. Thanks Brian.
