Note: Prudence, his mother, would have been 35 years old when Meredieth was born.
Living next door were Martha J. Mitchell (age 26), Milly E. (age 9), and Benjamin (no age given).
Meredieth Carter & Martha Jane Mitchell were later indicted for lewdness & fornication, openly & publicly, March term 1868. They departed Franklin County, TN on July 27, 1868, back to Alabama.
