Three different sources state the birth year of Rabbi Moses Meir as variously 1760, 1765, or 1770. However, none seem accurate. Here is the explanation.
The date when the parents of Moses Meir Weil got married (on 12 January 1766, when his father was 22 and his mother was 19 years old) makes it evident that the only valid option could be after 1766.
Moreover, Moses Meir had an older sister, [Reese Flatauer née Weyl], born in Lissa/Leszno Circa 1766; and a younger brother [Rabbi Yehuda Loeb Weil], born in Lissa/Leszno Circa 1770. Therefore, I conclude that Rabbi Moses Meir was born after 1766 and before 1770. For the purpose of notation, I designate his year of birth as 1768.
This birth year means that Rabbi Moses Meir would have died at 78 years.
