General Philip Schuyler, Jr - Sorting out Philip Schuylers

There may be confusion about Gen Philip Schuyler, Jr and Philip Schuyler married to Ann Anderson. NJ Naturalization Book 1749- 1810 lists "Philip Schuyler born 1718 and naturalized May 9, 1759, stating that he was born in Germany on the same day Samuel Swackhammer from Germany was also naturalized. According to Chambers book "Early Germans of NJ" the Schuylers and Swackhammers were neighbors and intermarried. The will of Philip Schuyler was, probated 1785 (written 1775) names wife Anna and 14 children, including Peter, book 27 page 47 NJ Calendar of Wills.

Philip Schuyler, Jr, son of Philip Arentse Schuyler and Hester Kingsland is listed in Pompton Ref Ch baptismal records as born Dec 23 1717, witnesses were John and Marie Kingsland.
