It's not as simple as that. There are multiple mistaken identities involved, and the whole megillah will require *very* careful sorting-out by experts.

People REALLY need to STOP making duplicates....

It's an "occupational hazard" of allowing GEDCOM uploads, and why Geni banned them for years. Now that they've decided to re-allow them, the duplicates are re-appearing and the sorting algorithms aren't sensitive enough to pick up on duplicates with only very small differences.

Incidentally, the whole Hughes/Nicketti thing has been debunked over and over and over again, but people *still* believe it even though it's impossible.

*If* such a pairing ever occurred, the accrued circumstances mean that it had to have occurred after 1700, a long way west and inland from the Jamestown colony (in fact, after Jamestown had been abandoned for Williamsburg), and "Nicketti" may have been Catawba rather than Powhatan. Reasons for the story latching on to a Powhatan connection probably include the "Pocahontas Exception" rammed through by certain FFV families to keep them firmly in the "White" category.

Yes, people definitely need to stop creating duplicates and I really hate that Geni allows GEDCOM uploads, which only create more problems.
