A Eunice Prouty definitely married an Abiah Barton on 26 May 1793 in Spencer, Massachusetts. (I assume the date of death here, 1766, is meant as a date of birth.) But there are no records I can find that this Eunice was a child of Adam Prouty and Dorothy Prouty , and I've been looking for years.

The same is true for siblings Dolly Adams , Lucy H. Boyce , and Patty Phelps , who always show up on-line as Adam and Dorothy's daughters, but who I've not found support for. Even an MSOG tree shows them, but with no citations.

I see we also have another Adam Prouty listed -- is he a half-sibling to Adam Prouty and named in his honor, or another misplaced Prouty?

Since these Proutys have been studied since the 1800s and no one ever seems to find actual records for these five, I'm inclined to just cut. But I want to see if anyone else has records first -- maybe we can solve a mystery!

We have anofher copy of Eunice showing that she was born May 21, 1765 in Framingham and died August 22, 1813.

That pretty much tells us she can't be a child of Adam Prouty. Eunice was born 40 miles in the wrong direction.

So that's one cut done!
