Moderators, someone entered a couple as parents of my paternal tree for Idel Charlupsky (the earliest known in the line for my own grandfather, Herman Charlupsky.) The supposed father's name is Gerz Zvi Shlesinger, which makes no sense to me. Since he would be in the paternal line, his family name should be a variant of Charlupsky or Charlap, UNLESS he is the stepfather of Idel. But looking at dates entered for Gerz Zvi Shlesinger and his other son (who bears both Shlesinger and Charlupsky surnames) is listed as being born before Idel, who appropriately is only Charlupsky. Something doesn't work here, and it isn't convincing of a stepparent relationship, of which I know nothing.
How can I find out who entered this person? Certainly I didn't.
Can you help me solve this mystery?
And if this person is incorrectly entered, I don't see any way I can change that.
