OBITUARY
MR. ERNEST AMOS.
Mr. Ernest Amos, who died recently at South Grafton, aged 76 years, was for many years prominently associated with horse racing.
For 10 years he was a member of the committee of the South Grafton Jockey Club.
Born on the Hunter River, he was married on the Clarence to Miss Cosgrove, of Waterview.
He farmed for many years in that locality. He played a prominent part in conducting bridle race meetings, in which he was the chief official. He owned several good gallopers . well above the bridle class, during his life time, and for some years owned a racing sire.
Apart from racing, his chief recreation was found in playing euchre. Of late years he took every opportunity of visiting South Grafton to engage in his favourite pastime with a large circle of friends.
He is survived by his wife, five sons and , three daughters. The sons are Messrs. William (Leura), Harold (South Grafton), Reginald (Waterview), Joseph and Eric (South Grafton). The daughters are Mesdames S. Constable (Lakemba), V. Baxter (Queensland), and Miss Mavis Amos (South Grafton). There are 15 grandchildren,
