This John Wesley Harris is documented both in "The 1995 Five Thomas Harrises of Isle of Wight County Virginia" by John Brayton and in Family Group sheets contributed by living direct descendants of the West Harris Family Association. It is quite evident that Cynthia Hicks is using names and dates from undocumented sources. Findagrave cites this (John) Wesley Harris as born 3 Apr 1759 and dying 3 Nov 1861, buried in the Harris Cemetery in Madison Co Tennessee and his wife Mary Ann Barringer born 28 Jan1796 in Cabarus Co NC (where they were married 1819 May 1819) dying 21 Jan 1863, buried next to husband. These names and dates are the same as data provided by living descendants of John Wesley Harris and his wife Mary Ann Barringer.
Here is a link to an approved DAR application that reflects the above line. In 2007 DAR corrected the wife's name from Kimball to Sarah Daniels.

I have created documented lineages for over 3 dozen Harris families, My tree is not published as it is not allowed for professioonal genealogists, Why publlsh my tree if people like you cpuld copy it as your own without paying me for my information? The family tree of John Wesley Harris 1795-1861 down to present was done for a male Harris descendant that I am not alllowed to devulge by law..
Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 I’m going to report a couple of posts on this discussion. I find your language out of line.
It appears there is a dispute on the parents of John W. Harris and the source you quoted for it is also disputed.
You have not provided a primary source for parents, and Elizabeth Kimball is mentioned as his mother. You don’t have to accept that citation either, but I am disconnecting from parents, meanwhile.
Mike Stangel please close this degraded discussion.

It would NOT have "degraded" if it were possible to add a Harris without being attacked.
I do see that Erica has worked it out as best she can and that this is NOT the same person that My King said.
I will continue to add siblings to this line now that I feel that I can safely do so.
Thank you for caring about these profiles.
Once it is correct, this John should show as a 1st cousin five times removed for me.
Thank you again.

Anybody who thinks that there *can't* be cousins with the same name, with fathers with the same name, maybe even wives with the same name, is a victim of the Emma Siggins White fallacy.
I've had to distinguish some Calitri kin by referring to their *grandfathers* - there are some names that just were that extremely popular.
Cynthia Hicks claimed her John Wesley Harris as grandson of West Harris by his son Rowland Harris which I pointed out was nit true. It is Erica that changed it toa different son of West Harris again UNDOCUMENTED. You can't just pick up lineage charts from the internet without verifying that each generatioon has proof of descent,
Call is t lineage chart or descendanycy chart they are the same thing/. I am not wrong but completely correct as ,Mike Stengel warmed you about. You need to document your relationshi to John Wesley Harris and his relationshio to parents without using these Ancestry and FamilySearch or Wiki trees that are not documented.
You are putting words in Mike Stangel's mouth again. You do not know this John Harris so please either help or at least do not be a hindrance, Mr King
