It looks to me as if the profile of Robert Kerr of Crailing, Lord Jedburgh (died 4 August 1692), who is known to have married a lady named Christian Hamilton (died 1688), has been MERGED IN ERROR with the profile of another man named Robert Carr, who married a lady named Catherine Carr, or Catherine Rutherford, and would like to separate the two families involved.

Can anyone provide source references for the family of Robert Carr and his wife Catherine Carr, or Catherine Rutherford?

Looks like desperate groping for ancestors for a couple of immigrants. But it's a house of cards. None of it hangs together.

I agree that this is a Robert in error on my own tree as well. There are a number of branches of the Kerr's/Carr's that were on the borders, with the popular family names of Robert, Thomas.... I believe you are entirely correct regarding the Robert Carr and a Rutherford. I will see what I have in my research, especially that information that I acquired while visiting Fierniehirst. Bob Lawson there is the authority on the Kerr's/Carr's and actually pointed out that error on my tree that I shared with him. I will see what I have that may confirm the correction you want to make. If my immediate memory serves me, the Carr you are referring to was in Cessford.

I know Wiki is sketchy, but check out the Clan Kerr page there for basic info that at a glance seems to be accurate in general.
