I am searching for a connection between Richard hood 1767-1860, a possible Robert hood and Elizabeth isabella Hood - Gordon - Davidson 1832-1908. Elizabeth came to Indiana with an “uncle Washington” and stayed with relatives John and Mahala Hood. Mahala’s maiden name was hood. Mahala’s parents were Richard and Judeath Rich.
Isabella’s biography was probably written by her daughter Sarah Catherine. Gordon. The story is clear but “ uncle Washington” could refer to the uncle of Elizabeth Isabella or the uncle of the third party telling the story. Also Isabella’s parents names are vague ‘ Robert and Mrs Robert Hood’. I wonder if they are correct, possibly Robert Is a middle name or family nickname.
I would so appreciate any information anyone has to offer as I have been searching for months. Thank you.

Mahala’s maiden name was Hood. Her husband was John hood. Possibly they were cousins married to each other.
