I have a book called the Manor Houses of Dorset, and obviously Chantmarle Manor, features. This Manor House is dtill standing and occupied. It states thet in 1212 it was owned by a Robert Chantmarle, and that one of his descendants married Alice de Stoke, so that would be John Chantmarle. Must have been a grandson I suppose, does any one know the connecting decscendants?
