Where did this last name come from? Some relatives are cabeza de baca, de vaca , baca and vaca. Any explanations welcome

cabeza de vaca is the origin, then when you added marriage, it became de vaca. In new mexico is where they began to shorting the name to Baca or Vaca.. Baca or Vaca is how you enunciate it and people spell it but it is the same. I you look to the beginning we are all related..

we are related, once i can connect her Daughter Teresa Cabeza de Vaca y Zurita to one of her children. There are to many mistakes of the marriages.
