Mark Strickland - Update

Dan Cornett, I'm going to go ahead and restore the correct names to the profiles since they should not have been altered in the first place, and make sure the dates and places are as they should be for David B. Strickland, his wife Elizabeth Hunt and his mother.

However, I have no idea what children might have been added and/or changed when Patricia's was doing what she did to these connections. I don't know the children on her direct line. So it will take me some time to make sure the right ones are still connected to David and Elizabeth and I really don't know what to do with any that might not should be connected to them. Patricia didn't make new profiles for Mark and Martha who she believes are her direct line, she just confiscated David and Elizabeth's profiles.

I hope it turns out that it just requires a profile for Mark and Martha and the Ervin / Irvin that Patricia believes is there son in spite of lack of much to validate that. I don't tend to work on other people's direct lines and would rather she do that herself. I'd just like what she did to these other profiles undone. If it cuts her line, it's her fault for handling it the way she did, in my opinion.

I changed Mark Strickland back to David B. Strickland but when I went to change Martha Patsy Harris back to Elizabeth Hunt, I noticed you had made that profile a Master Profile for Martha and it states this:

First of all, David B. Strickland and Elizabeth Hunt are the parents of Simeon Solomon Strickland on my line and it was their profiles that got tampered with. I've never seen Martha Patsy Harris listed as the wife of David B. Strickland or as the mother of the Simeon Solomon Strickland who married Jennie Hale, so this has been messed up for some time it seems. Even though it's a MP, it doesn't fit the family ties it's meant to be connected to. Your MP notation was made in 2015 but I have no idea that far back what that profile might actually have been connected to.

I've confirmed that after restoring Frances Brown as wife of Joseph Strickland that all their identified children are connected to them and none that don't belong to them. Thank goodness for small miracles at this point!

Just as one site had Wendy's ancestor Ervin / Irvin Strickland

connected as a son of David B. Strickland and Elizabeth Hunt, the lists I find of their 6 (not dozen more or less currently connected) show him as one of their known children.

So ALL that Wendy did in changing David to Mark and Elizabeth to Martha was unnecessary because it doesn't appear they were even Ervin's parents or her direct ancestors. I don't know who all those other kids belong to, but I'm leaving Ervin connected to David and Elizabeth as that seems to be his best documented line.

Ervin currently has two wives who are actually the same woman. He didn't have a wife name Martha and one named Patsy. He was married to a Martha 'Patsy' Crow, but I'm not working on that. Someone else on that direct line can resolve that.

Dan Cornett, I've gone through the list of children currently attached to David B. Strickland and Elizabeth Hunt. The known children usually listed include:

Frances, Drury, John, Simeon Solomon, Ervin and Solomon

The ones that aren't on their usual list of children and whom I have no knowledge of and don't intend to research. I'm 71 years old and did all these lines over the past 10 years and am not wanting to have to do it all again because someone messed it all up. But all or some of these certainly aren't their children and are wrongly connected. The ones that might actually be theirs need to be researched and documented so there won't be any remaining question:

Polly, Vashta, there are two Mournings listed, Jephta, Robert, Lewis, Thomas, Rhoda, Archibald, and Stephen Daniel.

That's a lot of potentially incorrectly connected lines that need to be sorted out.

That and fixing that MP notation on the profile that rightfully belongs to Elizabeth Hunt as the wife of David B. Strickland and mother of his six known children is what seems to remain to be done.

The irony is it doesn't seem that the Harris woman is in Wendy's direct line anyway.

What a mess. I know I have ranted and fumed, but this didn't have to have happened and shouldn't have. I've done all I can to restore it as it should be and once the questionable children are sorted and connected to rightful parents, these profiles need to be locked. I'm too old and easily flustered to ever go through this again on these lines.
