I've seen at least three sets of parents for this Thomas Barnes in various online trees and none have had any documentation at all. This site has the most family info I've found, but still no documentation:

The majority of trees on Ancestry just don't connect parents to him, probably due to lack of documentation.
Does anyone have any actual documentation we can add to his profile for his father actually being Edward Barnes? The notes in Thomas' About section say: "Edward Barnes of London, England was the probable father of Thomas Barnes (1645-1683) who died in Isle of Wight County, Virginia." That's an 'ify', unproven connection, in my opinion.
I'm always of the opinion that when documentation proving questionable connections is lacking, it's better not to connect them than to give possibly false pathways on Geni that mess up all our connections.
