The information about Rudolph was interesting. He was born in Uusikirkko, in Karelian Isthmus. The parish registers of Uusikirkko are available online. Rudolph’s name was originally Rudolf Julku. He was a son of Taavetti Julku and Kustaava Suhonen. The family lived in a small cabin. Taavetti and Kustaava had ten children, two of them died as infants. Taavetti died in April 1918 in the Civil War.
I think that the family didn’ t know that Rudolf was dead. He is mentioned in the census registers of Uusikirkko in 1920 as a vagabond. Uusikirkko became a part of the Soviet Union during the Winter War. The family had to move to the Finnish side of the border.
