Hi Jarrett,

I do not know if you remember me, but we are distantly related. I am an ancestor of Izaak Veerjong/Isaac Fairman and you are a descendent of one of his half siblings. We were in contact some years back about Isaac's mother.

Firstly, I hope that you and your family are keeping well and safe, under these most difficult of times.

Today I am writing about Phoebe Corper. I have not been able to find any information about her birth/birthdate in Amsterdam, where I presume she was born. From what I can tell, Phoebe is not a Dutch name, but an English name, so wonder if she changed it when the family moved to London, but also what was her first original name and would like proof that she is a daughter of Schoontje (Jane) Moscou.

I know in the FreeHMD website, there is a Phoebe Moscow who married into the Corper family, so did you obtain a copy of the wedding certificate that may have given more details about Phoebe's origins?

Perhaps you would be kind enough to clarify this.

Do keep well and safe and kind regards,

Your distance cousin, Sandra Wasserman

Hello Sandra,

While I am uncertain if this is for sure, I believe Phoebe was born Sophia and if that is correct the following link has her civil registration for birth in Amsterdam - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-XSWK-MB?i=348&...

Unfortunately there is nothing to confirm this that I have found yet but it makes the most sense to me based on all the births for Abraham and Schoontje while in Amsterdam.

Thanks for your speedy reply. It seems Phoebe had a daughter called Sophia, but no kids named after her parents, unless she considered Sophia sounding like Schoontje, Jane Moscow's original first name.

What I really would like is a copy of Phoebe's wedding certificate to Simon Corper. That would probably have her parent(s) details listed on it. However, with Covid-19 going on, this might not be possible to obtain at present.

If I can confirm the details, I think I have a link down to Phoebe's descendants who are alive today, based on something my late father told me. I will let you know, eventually, if this pans out.

Stay well and safe,

Sandra
