In BERTIE County NC, there are AT-LEAST "3" groups of MOOREs. (1) EDWARD MOORE, who came down from NAMSEMOND Co., VA, (2) JAMES MOORE, who was the GOVERNOR of CAROLINA, who lived in CHARLESTON, who had "6" sons; "4" came to NC, and (3) MY Line. Some say that Dr. JAMES MOORE, was born in NANSEMOND VA son of WILLIAM MOORE 1705-1771. BUT, the FAMILY story is; THAT "OUR" FIRST "MOORE" to AMERICA was BORN in SCOTLAND, went to EDENBURG U., became a Doctor, and then came to America. - MY 5th G-GrandFather, Dr. JAMES MOORE, was in BERTIE Co., NC by 1756/57. NOW ALL THESE MOOREs are COUSINS, according to DNA. JAMES the Governor, and I are "6" Markers apart; and "12 to 16 Generations apart. Edward and I are further apart.
DOES anybody have any FAMILY stories, about WHERE your MOOREs came from, and especially -> DR. JAMES MOORE b. 1732 and d. After 1805 in HERTFORD Co., NC???
