TRYING TO FIND ANY INFO LINKING AN ADOPTION OF MY MOTHER 1954 OR 1955

I'm reaching out to anyone who is well versed in geneology research. I am a rookie 100%. A little bit of my backstory and why I'm in desprate need of anyone who may be able to guide me on my quest . My urgency in any and all info that can possibly give me a clearer understanding of where i might come from . My mother has been deseased since 1998. From what I gather and what recollection of my mom's back story is

My mom was adopted as an only child, I was born an only child no blood extended relatives as far as i know. Everyone that might have been able to give me some solid answers or info on my mom and sspcifics of her adopption if that is the actual factual info .? the reason i say this is because I actually had never once overheard nor have any memory of my grandparents ever having any small talk or discussions about topics of adoption.
In conclusion,
i would like to know more of my biological background not from a selfish intention but for my 4 childrens sake as well as any possible hereditary health issues that can possibly be crucial to our family so we can have that knowledge to be more vigilant in taking care of our health in future ..
i'm not quite sure what info i need to post regarding names of my family tree that would be helpful in possibly helping me ..

I have done endless research from theses types of sites to researching past possible newspaper clippings that might contain leads . im exhausted and dont know how or who or where to futher my inquiries in discovering if i even have any relatives at all. if i dont than i wont drive myself crazy chasing my tail for more years if theres no reason too..
