Erica Howton, I believe you are the curator for the MP of Grietje Borsboom. I've come across what seems to be a fairly thorough argument against Grietje Borsboom being the daughter of Barent Von Rotmers here, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Should_Grietje_Borsboom%27s_LNA....

I am wondering why we continue to show Grietje Borsboom as a Von Rotmers. Can you shed any light on this?

Private User The entire family needed cleanup. Should be better now.

Personally I think it likely she was part native, it explains her as a fur trader. But that would be difficult to prove or disprove, so leaving her parentless until more evidence.

Me, too. But I am happy you agree we're better off indicating we have no evidence. Thanks once again for your excellent work!

There is one more option that may add credibility to her Mohawk heritage not mentioned here. I am of this line and had a Familysearch DNA test done and was surprised to find my DNA includes nearly 100% European with a touch of American Indian! I added the test for American Indian and uploaded all into Gedmatch.com to see if I could define the data more. My tree is very complete and reflects lines all originating in Europe as the DNA indicated... except for this one record for Grietje possible Mohawk. I inherited American Indian from somewhere and odds at this point are Grietje was Mohawk. Records indicate it and DNA says a probable match as well. I think you are right Erica except I think she was full Mohawk.

oops...I was signed in under my son Zeb Vincent Tate but I, Caren, am the one that wrote about my American Indian DNA.

More food for thought....
I also want to send you a link to look at my great great grandfather's picture from the civil war. When we saw it we commented he almost looks American Indian unlike the rest of his family. Clark Clarence Peck b. 1843, (English/Scottish/Irish) who's mother is of Grietje's line.
