Ran across this note.

See the essay 'Thomas Tolman (1608-1690) of Dorchester, Massachusetts' on the website www.29deadpeople.com. The most recent version (6 Nov 2018) contains at-DNA data which prove the Lancashire origin of Thomas Tolman and forever disproves the unsupported Salcombe Regis nonsense. Family Association: http://thomastolmanfamily.org/

Hatte Anne Blejer I disconnected him from DOLMANs (who were not from Dorset either) but I haven’t pursued this possible origin.

The rest of this tree looks fine.

There is a new version dated May 2020 that has the at-dna at the bottom of the PDF.

Michelle McQueen (Woodard) Superkit #EG316362C1 mt haplogroup H6 Can you find the URL of the latest PDF and add that link to the profile under “references” at the bottom of the profile (it has such a nice biography, don’t want to mess with it).

Do you have an opinion on the parents? I disconnected from DOLMAN family.

The Toulmin Family of Lancashire, England

Richard L. Tolman, Ph. D.

The American family and English origins of the immigrant Thomas Tolman/Touleman (1608-1690) are detailed in the accompanying essay ‘Thomas Tolman (1608-1690) of Dorchester, Massachusetts’. Also presented in that essay is some DNA evidence that his origin is Lancashire, England. The purpose of this essay is to present additional DNA evidence of the Lancashire family and to expand the understanding of the Lancashire families and collateral lines.

Examination of the Lancaster, Lancashire parish registers revealed a son Thomas1 born (illegitimate) to Issabel Towmng/Towning and Roger Parkenson in Lancaster, Lancashire on the 9th day of the twelfth month of 16082 (Lancaster is 40 miles north of Liverpool in Lancashire). Issabel was born in 1588 in Lancaster to William and Elizabeth Towlming (Toulmin).3 Issabel subsequently married William Wilkinson in 1612 and had a large family (see Genealogical Summary 1 below). Roger Parkinson was already married (1601) to Dorothy Dawson and had children (see Genealogical Summary 1 below).

Wow, maybe we can get this Wilkinson family connected also.

I already added Issabel. Just gotta add her husband.

Is it looking like his wife has the same parents ?

Sarah Tolman

Its looking that way.

Hows the endogamy look for the at dna? Hmmm but the website says those two parents only had 1 child together.

I’m disconnecting Sarah as daughter of Richard Parkenson & Isabel Wilkinson. There is no evidence she was their daughter.

I agree. I merged the parents so they hopefully wont be re added.
