Esther Alice Vold - maiden name

She lived her entire life, the same as her siblings, only knowing her father was Olaf Vold from Norway and her mother was Julia Solve born in Minnesota.

I got my DNA tested in 2014. Ran into roadblocks as nothing matched by their surnames. With the help from the Norwegian DNA Group, I got excellent ideas to pursue.

Now know that Esther's parents left their families in North Dakota, changed their surnames (grandfather also changed his given name) and never contacted families again. Have contacted my new families and some have been very helpful with photos and articles that my grandparents never took with them when they left ND.

So this is why Esther Vold is staying with Vold. She was born with that name. My uncle's family will carry on the Vold surname.
