When I was first doing my genealogy I believed that this David Lewis, Sr., was the son of the John Lewis of Warner Hall, Virginia. However, I was notified by a member of that family and told that DNA proved that this David Lewis, Sr., was not descended from the Warner Hall Lewis family. Please do not confuse the two families.

I have his parents as David Lewis, born about 1662 in Prince George County, Maryland, and died 5 Mar 1710 in Virginia; and Jane Crawford, born about 1672 in Winchester, Frederick, Virginia, and died about 1730 in Haverford, Chester, Pennsylvania. The Maryland, Births and Christening Index, 1662-1911 is the source for this.

Actually, the death date of David Lewis Sr. should say after 6 Oct 1773. That was the date of his will. He must have died soon after because the will was probated 11 Nov 1773.
