Geni records - CONFUSION - (Corneille Josef Francois 1781-1840) versus (ds. Cornelis Joseph Francois 1784-1859). Are they one-in-the-same person or cousins?

Seeking assistance.... Can anyone shed any light on this issue below??......

There appears to be some confusion on Geni between (Corneille Josef Francois 1781-1840) versus (ds. Cornelis Joseph Francois 1784-1859).

They are recorded in Geni as the same person, married to the same 4 women (Johanna Catharina Schut, Anna Boeye, Adriana Johanna Schut, and Maria Jacomina van Elten) and having the same children...... Are they one-in-the-same person or cousins? I believe(?) them to be cousins.

The difference between Geni profiles (Corneille Josef Francois 1781-1840) versus (ds. Cornelis Joseph Francois 1784-1859) is their birth and death dates, and that:

I have listed Daniel Francois (1781 to 1840) as the father of Corneille Josef Francois (1812 to 1844) and Marie Francois Joseph Francois (1747 to 1802) as his grandfather.

Jeannette has listed Cornelis Joseph Francois (1784 to1859) as the the father of ds. Cornelis Joseph Francois (1828 to 1888) and Joseph Francois (dates not known) as his grandfather.

The historical records use different spelling of the names at times..... Cornelis, Corneille, Cornelli, Joseph, Josef, Jozef...... just to add to the confusion!

I believe that they are not one-in-the same person but they are in fact cousins??? This needs to be confirmed and Geni profiles updated. So far, my research has not been able to clearly prove one way or the other. Any research I have found has been linked to the profile I manage for (Corneille Josef Francois 1781-1840)

Any assistance clearing up this confusion would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Justine Stavris
