I BELEIVE THIS INFORMATION CAME FROM A COUSIN THROUGH SUSANNAH SNEED SON BACK IN THE EARLY 1990'S.
OLD LAND PATENTS SHOW THAT GRANDVILLE AND JOHN J. JORDAN PURCHASED 40 ACRES ON JUNE 1, 1859. GRANDVILLE WAS A FIDDLE PLAYER. HE CONDUCTED A GENERAL STORE IN ENON AT ONE TIME AND OWNED 134 ACRES NORTH OF ENON, WHICH HE FARMED. HE WAS 5 FT 9 IN AND WEIGHED 125 POUNDS WHEN IN THE BEST OF HEALTH HAD BLUE EYES, DARK HAIR AND WORE GLASSES. HE FOUGHT IN THE CIVIL WAR IN SEVERAL UNITS. HE ENLISTED IN COMPANY F, 43RD REGIMENT ENROLLED MISSOURI MILITIA ON JUNE 22 1862 AND WAS ORDERED INTO ACTIVE SERVICE AUGUST 8, 1862. HE WAS RELIEVED FROM FUTHER DUTY WITH THE COMPANY ON NOVEMBER 2, 1862; 86 DAYS SERVICE. HE ENROLLED AS CORPORAL IN COMPANY C 9TH REGIMENT PROVISIONAL ENROLLED MISSOURI MILITIA ON JUNE 22 1863 AND RELIEVED OF DUTY NOVEMBER 25, 1863; 185 DAYS SERVICE. IN THIS REGIMENT HE WAS WITH HIS UNCLE, JAMES H. SON. AGAIN HE ENROLLED AS A PRIVATE IN COMPANY F 43RD REGIMENT ENROLLED MISSOURI MILITIAON SEPTEMBER 30, 1864 AND WAS RELIEVED NOVEMBER 19, 1864; 32 DAYS SERVICE. ALL TOGETHER 274 DAYS. AFTER CATHERINE DIED IN 1905, HE MOVED TO COLORADO IN MAY 1905 AND STAYED TILL 1909. IN 1909 HE MOVED BACK TO MISSOURI AND LIVED WITH HIS DAUGHTER, NANCY SON MORROW, IN COLE COUNTY, MISSOURI, ONE MILE EAST OF ENON WHERE HE LIVED TILL HE DIED. HE SUFFERED FROM RHEUMATISM, CORNS ON THE BALLS OF HIS FEET, POOR EYESIGHT, HEART PROBLEMS AND CANCER. HE HAD SUFFERED TWO YEARS OF CANCER AND HAD BEEN BEDFASTNFOR TWO MONTHS BEFORE HIS DEATH.
