Hi, you certainly gave me a surprise with the strong statement and apparent proof that the wife of George Strong, B ant 1560 in Chard, Somerset could not have been Ann Bond, day of George Bond and Winifred Leigh. Your source was the fine book on London Marriages, but that right there is, I believe, the issue. Both the Richard Martin and Ann Bond given in the listing I 'm sure you were referencing were "of London". As was the unknown Bond listed as Ann's father. What I think makes your contention inaccurate is that neither the Ann Bond married to George Strong nor Ann's father, George Bond, were "of London." And Ann and George's wedding was held in Chard, Somerset as far as I know. Also, George Bond was such a prominent figure, I find it odd that he wasn't named in this London listing??? Anyway, you did a fabulous job researching this immediate Bond/Strong line. Did you look to see if there were Chard marriage listings; maybe we'll find Ann and George Strong there? Also, your argument about Ann and George's son probably being John, not Richard, is an interesting one. I certainly have it as Richard, but when I started to double check that, your "John" version certainly seems to work. Did you have a source for John's info? Thanks for all your obvious diligent work!
