MILLER-PEMBERTON

The wedding took place on Monday evening at Holy Trinity Church, Tauranga. of Gloria, only daughter of Mr and Mrs I. E. Pemberton, of Portland, Whangarei, to Mr John Henry Miller, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs H. Miller, of Nelson. The Rev. A. F. Hall performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle-length frock, of ivory satin beaute, the skirt composed of deep flares from an embroidered hip yoke. Her tulle veil was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lillies. In attendance as bridesmaids were Kathrine and Frances Comber, cousins of the bride. The former wore an anklelength frock of delphinium blue georgette, with blue lace coatee, and picture hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of pale pink sweet peas. The latter was in an ankle-length frock of water lily green georgette, with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of rose pink sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Ernest Pemberton as best man. and Master Keith Pemberton as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s grandparents, First Avenue. Mrs Pemberton received the guests wearing a frock of navy satin beaute and bangkok hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of dark red flowers. Mrs S. Pemberton, grandmother of the bride, was frocked in black silk morie. relieved with lettuce green, and with it wore a black ballebuntal hat, and carried a posy of old gold flowers.
