I just went back to family trees my Dad, George Reaves & Uncle Harry Painter, did "years" ago....long before I joined Geni. They show that my direct ancestor through my father's mother, Mary Madison, was a Walter Food [1656...I assume "born"...5 years before his father's death] , son of Capt John Flood [from England 1610 as Capt of the Swan....died 1661] and Fortune Jordan Flood.
That son, Walter, might help pick which John Flood we're talking about, be it Col, Capt or Jr.
I've had those trees rolled up for a long time. Thanks for giving me a reason to have another look.
