John Sevier had only one son by the name of: Col. George Washington Sevier, Sr born 1782.
The George Washington Sevier under discussion here was born in 1816. So it's probably his grandson or nephew, certainly not his son (Governor John Sevier died in 1815, btw).
And while we're here, I thought John Sevier had 18 legitimate children. The list has grown to about 22 now (counting this erroneous George Washington Sevier.
