Has there been further discovery of his parentage? I’m still trying to understand my how my Y-Haplogroup (N-M178) was introduced into this lineage.

Not that I know of. The Leaches seem to have multiple Y haplogroups. My British born husband - Tony Leach's Y is IM253 (if I recall correctly.)
