Karen Nielsdatter Nielsdatter Basse - Is there any chance of a connection with the Nansemond Basse/Bass of Virginia?

I'm not a "formal" descendent of Karen or her son... though I suspect that I may be given the fact that some of her descendants in Norway and other Nordic countries come up as DNA relatives.
I also seem to be related to the descendants of William Bass(e) of Virginia given the amount of DNA I share with his descendants over there. Is there a chance that Karen or her father were actually from that side of the pond rather than Denmark?
If not, could you give me the sources that prove otherwise?
