Rowden, Capt. John from Salem where he had a 1st w. Mary, m. 2d wid. Elizabeth Hammond (4) after 1677, and liv. on her estate on the Kennebec, prob. on the west side near Merrymeeting bay. Commissioner, 1687. Bef. 4 Sept. 1688 both were taken prisoner by Ind. (her 2d captivity) and Capt. Rowden, at least, never returned.
