Susannah Usselton with Susannah Gano?

It just dawned on me that they're probably the same person. It's possible that "Ann Walton" is the same person as Susannah Usselton or Wusselton. That is probably why Rev. John Gano when giving her name qualified his statement of fact with "I believe".

He probably realized he was close enough as far as his memory served him, but maybe not technically, exactly precise about her actual name. It seems like a mistake that could easily happen. And the similarity is obvious at least to me: Ann/SusANNah and Walton/[W]usseLTON.

(For example, my grandmother called her in-law "Messer" or "Misser" -- her real maiden name was MERCER.)

Actually it was Grandma's grandmother on her father's side (not an in-law).

I think we need more citations to merge. Who are the parents?

Citation.

Furman, Consuelo, and John Gano. 1942. Identity of Susannah, wife of Stephen Gano, Jr., of Staten Island. [New York, N.Y.]: [publisher not identified]. OCLC Number: 84392642 Notes: "Being corrections to the 'Biographical memoirs of the Rev. John Gano' reprint from the American Genealogist July 1942."
