Someone has duplicated Francis Gano and connected a bunch of bogus profiles to the historically documented Francis Gano line without any sources or documentation at all. Francis Gano didn't have a middle name, but here comes "Etienne" again. Also my extensive research which I have already presented in detail proves that although Lydia Mastereau was *possibly* Francis Gano's daughter-in-law -- she could not have been his wife. And there is no proof of parentage of Francis Gano, either.
The Francis Gano profile, which is so important both historically and genealogically, needs to be repaired, MP'd, and locked, to prevent this from happening again. NONE of the following profiles should be connected to Francis Gano/aka Francois Gerneaux. His wife is unknown, his parents unknown. His siblings are unknown. And he had only three children that were known (with profiles already).
wife of Etienne Mestereau (added as the wife of the one above)
Francis Gano (duplicated this past January, and left as half-brother of the original Francis Gano)

“ Etienne Gayneau Jr was born about 1640 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France. He was the son of Etienne Gayneau Sr and Marie Geneau. He was a stovemaker merchant when he married his wife, Lydia Mestereau, on 16 March 1653 in La Rochelle. The family migrated to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where Marie Magdelinne was born and baptised, and later to New York. Etienne Gayneau and Lydia Mestereau arrived in New York on the ship De Bever (The Beaver) on 09 May 1661, with three of the four children who had been born in La Rochelle. Apparently, starting a new life in a new country Etienne changed the family name from Gayneau to Gano before his last two children were born in his new country. He died about 1706 in Staten Island, Richmond County, New York, British America.”
So is this bio a different person?
Take a look at the notes for Etienne - Stephen in profile and also here (confused about wife)
