When Dionysius Klapperich was born on 30 June 1759 in Hausten, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, he was the son of Stephanus Klapperich and Elisabeth Hackenbruch. He married Marianna Angela Klein on 22 January 1788 in his hometown. They had ten children. He died on 12 May 1831 in Hausten, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 71.

After his death, two of his sons emigrated to the USA: On 19 Jul 1856, his son Stephan (1803-1875) emigrated with his 5 children and wife Gertrude Neiss. (Line Stephan) Then in 1857, his son Johann Jacob (1797-1885) emigrated with his 5 children and wife Margaretha Ebert. (Line JJ)

These two emigrant sons of Dionysis and Marianna Klein launched two of the larger Klapperich branches in the United States.

Children The eldest son, Johann was born 06.11.1788 and is thought to have died 03.03.1811 Santander (Spain) as a soldier. 2nd son: Mathias born 11.08.1790 WO: Engeln FB II KP S. 359 oo 11.02.1822 Catharina Bell (Engeln);oo 08.02.1827 Maria Catharina Bell (Engeln); and third wife oo 24.05.1832 Magdalena Pitz (Hohenleimbach). Third son 3.) Paul , born 19.09.1792 and died 26.09.1836 married oo 08.02.1827 Anna Maria Rausch (Hausten). Fourth son: 4.) Jacob, born 21.01.1795 died in infancy 14.08.1795. Fifth son: Johann Jacob was born 30.08.1797, WO: Kempenich FB III KP S. 59 USA. He married oo 12.04.1836 Margaretha Ebert (Kempenich). Sixth child daughter Maria Magdalena born 03.11.1799 and died in childhood 10.09.1803. Seventh child Jacob born 09.02.1802 and died as an infant 15.04.1802. Eighth child Stephan born 18.04.1803 went to the USA. He married oo 29.04.1834 Gertruda Neis (Hausten). Ninth child Anna born 02.02.1806 and died 02.02.1843, married oo 27.01.1831 Peter Klapperich (Morswiesen). Tenth child Anna Margaretha born 15.09.1808 and died13.04.1883, married oo 08.02.1827 Johann Rausch (Hausten).
