@St. Hedwig von Andechs, Patron Saint of Silesia

Hello Everyone!

I am very sorry but there is an error at the beginning of this discussion.
In the history of Poland there were two women with the name Jadwiga (Hedwig) who become saints.
One was the queen (and also king) of Poland Jadwiga Andegaweńska Capetian of Anjou. She was born 1373 or 1374, died 1399, canonized 1997. She is buried at the Wawel Cathedral in Krakow. She is patron of Poland.

The second is duchess consort of Silesia – Jadwiga Śląska (Hedwig of Silesia) born between 1178-1180, died 1243, canonized 1267. She is patron of Silesia. Her name was given to St. Hedwig’s Cathedral in Berlin. And her remains were recently found in Trzebnica (Silesia).
