I think that 2 Martha M COOK's have become confused.

Martha May Bateup - Erskine
* born 1877
* died 1962
* father - John Henry Cook 1854-1919
* mother - Ellen Margaret Cook 1860-1945

married 1895 to Alfred Rueben Bateup (as Martha M COOK)

married 1916 to Hector Brechin Erskine (as Martha M COOK)

divorced from Alfred BATEUP in 1919

What evidence is there that they are the same person?

CONCLUSION - same person - she married ERSKINE whilst still being legally married to BATEUP and then she divorced BATEUP.
